Frequently asked questions
How many inches is 1 cm?
1 centimeter equals 0.3937 inches, or about 25/64 in. One inch is exactly 2.54 cm.
How does the pixel (px) conversion work?
Pixels use the current screen mapping (CSS pixels per inch). A saved card calibration can improve that mapping, but it applies only to the current display and zoom and should be verified with a physical reference.
Why do inch results also show a fraction?
Tape measures and drawings usually use fractional inches, so the converter shows the nearest 1/16 fraction next to the decimal value.
How precise are the conversions?
Conversions use the exact definition 1 in = 25.4 mm and are computed with double precision; displayed values are rounded to 6 decimals.
Can I convert negative values or zero?
Yes. All finite numbers are supported; results follow the same exact ratios.
