Exact unit definitions
Since 1959 the inch has been defined as exactly 25.4 mm, so every metric–imperial conversion here is exact; only rounding for display limits the digits. CSS pixels and typographic points are defined from the inch.

Paper sizes in pixels for printing
To print at a given physical size, an image needs width in inches × DPI pixels on each side. 300 DPI is the usual target for photos and documents, 150 DPI is adequate for drafts and large posters seen from a distance, and 72 DPI is common in PDF page units.
