Online Ruler is a free, browser-based measuring toolkit: an actual-size screen ruler, an image measurement tool, and a length unit converter. Every measurement runs entirely inside your browser. We do not operate user accounts, and the site has no server-side database of visitors.

This policy explains the small amount of data that stays on your device, the data that third-party services may collect, and the choices you have.

Data that stays in your browser

To make the tools work, the site stores a few preferences locally using your browser's localStorage:

• Screen calibration: the pixels-per-inch value you set when you calibrate the ruler with a bank card or a known object.
• Tool preferences: the last unit you selected (cm, mm, or inches), ruler layout options, and the theme (light or dark).

This data never leaves your device and is never transmitted to us. You can delete it at any time by clearing site data for this website in your browser settings.

Images you measure

The image measurement tool opens photos directly in your browser. Images are processed on your device only. They are not uploaded, stored, or shared with us or with anyone else.

Third-party services

Depending on the deployment configuration, the site may load the following third-party services. Each has its own privacy policy and may set cookies or collect usage data such as your IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and approximate location:

• Google AdSense for advertising. Google may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites. You can opt out of personalised advertising at Google Ads Settings or through www.aboutads.info.
• Analytics (for example Google Analytics) to measure aggregate traffic and understand which tools are used. Analytics data is aggregated and does not identify you personally.

We do not ask for your name, email address, payment details, or any other personal information. There is no sign-up, login, or newsletter.

Children's privacy
